Honestly, I keep seeing people crank down on carbon seatpost binder bolts like they're steel.
A customer brought in a cracked post last week from a shop that used a 15Nm torque wrench setting, which is way over the 5Nm spec printed right on the clamp. Tbh, it's not about being gentle, it's about the material. How do you guys explain proper carbon torque to customers without sounding like you're babying their bike?

Yeah, that "crank down" line is exactly how I used to think too.

Used to think a little extra torque just meant it was secure, no big deal. Then I saw a guy snap a clean two grand carbon bar right at the clamp because he went ham with an allen key. The sound it made, like a gunshot, changed my whole view. Now I just show them the spec printed on the part and say it's like a recipe, you follow it or things break.
