inSpent two full days trying to get a custom cabinet door to fit right in a 1920s house.
Oh man, I feel that pain. But just to be clear, the cabinet door itself isn't the problem, it's the opening it has to go into. Those old houses are never square. You're not really fitting the door, you're fighting the frame. I've had to shim hinges and plane down edges on brand new doors just to get them to sit flush. It's never just a simple swap.

inSpent three hours on a simple crown repair that should have taken forty minutes
Yeah, that hidden water damage is the worst. I always check for soft spots in the surrounding material now before I even quote a crown job. It saves the surprise of having to rebuild the whole chimney base later.

inI swapped my morning scroll for a 6am walk in the park for a week, and my brain just works better now.
Honestly, I should try that. My version was just switching from coffee to tea, which fixed nothing except making me a more tired version of myself.

inI tried to cut a tiny gear for a model train with a 1/16 end mill and the thing flew across the shop like a bullet.
You think plastic can't be dangerous? That tiny gear was spinning at thousands of RPM. It's basically a miniature shuriken launched by a machine.

inJust realized my 3-day trip to Chicago only cost me $317 total!
Honestly, the biggest money saver for me is just... not doing the tourist stuff. I skipped the observation deck last time and just walked around the different neighborhoods. You see way more of the real city, and it's free. That falafel place sounds like the kind of spot you only find when you do that.
