A friend told me my pour-over was way too fast

I was making coffee for a friend last month and they said, 'That looks like tea, not coffee.' I was using my usual 30-second pour for a V60. I slowed it down to a full minute, grinding a bit finer on my Baratza Encore. The difference was huge, way more flavor. Anyone else get a simple tip that fixed their brew?

Honestly, what grind setting did you land on?

Used to rush it too, but slowing down really helped.

Yeah the Encore is a solid grinder but you gotta be careful with the steps. The 30 second pour thing is a common mistake I see all the time. I also use a Baratza and found that going from a 14 to a 16 setting made a way bigger difference than I expected. Slowing the pour to about 2 minutes total really helped me get the right extraction. Just watch out for the fines at the super fine settings, those can clog the filter if you go too far. Took me a few tries to find the sweet spot but now its way more consistent.
