My brother told me to skip the first season of a show and I'm glad I did
He said 'just watch from season two, trust me' about The Office, because the first season is only six episodes and feels totally different. I started with season two and got hooked right away, then went back to season one later and saw what he meant. Has anyone else had a show where skipping ahead actually made you like it more?

Nah, that's a terrible way to watch anything. You miss all the setup and the jokes that pay off later.

The Office is a classic example, but the first season is actually only five episodes, not six. I get why your brother said that though, the tone is way more awkward and less funny. I had a similar thing with Parks and Rec, the first season feels like a rough draft. Did you end up liking the later seasons more after starting with season two?
