Just realized the 5 minute setup rule saved my group from never playing again
We kept skipping game night because setup took 40 minutes for one heavy game, but then I started pre-sorting pieces into baggies the night before in my Minneapolis apartment, and now we actually get to play 2 or 3 games a session, so has anyone else found a prep trick that fixed their group's biggest blocker?
Did you ever try just leaving the game set up on a table between sessions? We did that for a while with a big campaign game and it worked great until my cat decided the miniatures were toys and batted half of them under the couch. Took me a week to find all the tiny pieces, and one sword guy is still missing. The baggie thing is smarter, I'll give you that. Now I sort everything the night before too, but I also write a tiny sticky note on top with who is playing what color so we skip the whole "who was blue last time" fight.
