Hot take: I stopped using soap on my cutting torch tips and my cuts got way cleaner
Used to scrub them with degreaser after every job back in 2019 like the old timers taught me, but last year I switched to just wiping them dry with a rag and the flame stays tighter longer, anyone else ditch the soap and see the same?

Wait, were you getting soap residue actually baking into the tip and messing with the gas flow, or was it more of a drag on the flame itself?

The "soap residue actually baking into the tip" part got me. I was totally on the "scrub it clean or die" train for years, but trying it dry one time made me a believer.
