Painted my front door bright orange and now my brick house looks like a traffic cone
So I got bored two weekends ago and painted my front door a super bright orange, thinking it would pop against the red brick. Big mistake. It clashes so hard that my neighbor Carol asked if I was trying to match the construction signs down the street. I panicked and tried adding a teal welcome mat and some navy planters to calm it down, but now it just looks like a weird sports team. What colors do you guys think actually work with red brick, or should I just repaint the whole thing?
Honestly the door might not even be the real problem, it's that orange and red brick sit right next to each other on the color wheel so your eye can't tell where one stops and the other starts. Try something on the opposite side like a deep green or slate blue, that gives the brick some breathing room. Teal and navy were never gonna save you, those are cool colors fighting a warm door.
