Baking from our book club pick made our debate way better

Our latest read was a novel about a family restaurant. I made the dessert mentioned in a key scene, and it helped us understand the characters' conflicts. What book scenes have you recreated for your club?

Burning a loaf while baking a metaphor is too real. My mom tried that once with a book about Southern families. Made cornbread during a big dinner scene argument. The cornbread burned charred black, just like the family's feelings. Smoke alarm went off and everything.

Hey @jesse_white19, metaphors don't go in the oven!
