Picked unbleached linen thread over waxed for my last rebind

The threads caught less on the signatures and didn't leave that sticky residue on my fingers, anyone else find waxed thread more trouble than it's worth?

Oh man, I'm totally with you on this. It's like when you're buying anything and the "fancy" version is just more hassle. Bleached vs unbleached thread is basically the same as picking the right tool for the job versus the one that looks cooler on Instagram. Everyone wants that glossy waxed finish until they're picking fuzz off their pages for days. I'd rather have something that works quietly and doesn't make me regret every step of the process. Unbleached linen just gets out of your way and lets you do the actual work.

That bottom line you said about something that works QUIETLY really sticks with me. Why do you think people keep chasing the shiny, complicated stuff even when they KNOW the simple version works better? Is it just Instagram showing off or is there some deeper urge to make everything harder than it has to be? I've seen guys buy expensive waxed thread kits only to switch back to plain unbleached within a month. Just seems like we're trained to ignore what actually functions best.
