Shoutout to the library volunteer in Omaha who told me to dampen my thread
I was fighting knots on every signature of a 300 page rebind, cussing at my linen thread the whole time. She walked over, dipped her fingers in a cup of water, and ran the thread through them twice before I waxed it, and the snarls just stopped. Does anyone else wet their thread before waxing, or am I the only one who did not know this?

Years of waxing and never once thought to wet the thread first. Guess my fingers were too dry and my pride too big to ask.
