That one guy at the nursery who told me I was overwatering my fiddle leaf

Last spring at Armstrong Garden Center in Sacramento, a random customer saw me buying moisture meters and said I was doing too much and to just stick my finger in the soil every 5 days. Has anyone else gotten unsolicited advice that actually ended up being spot on?

Agree completely, I had a guy at Home Depot tell me to stop using my fancy watering app and just look at the leaves, and now my plants are actually thriving.
