Unpopular opinion: that 'vintage' diner logo trend needs to die already

Last week I walked into a new burger spot in Denver and their logo looked like it was photocopied from 1952 - same chunky font, same faded red and teal. Three years ago I thought this retro look was charming but now every coffee shop and taco joint uses the exact same formula. Am I the only one tired of brands pretending they've been around since the 50s when they opened in 2022?

Stood in line at a place called "The Atomic Grill" last month and their logo was literally a cartoon atom with a hamburger for a nucleus. It's like every designer just watched the same episode of Mad Men and called it a day.

My buddy opened a bar in Austin called "The Midcentury" in 2023 and their entire brand was stolen from a 1957 Holiday Inn postcard. He spent 15 grand on a designer who just traced an old diner menu and called it "modern nostalgia." Your mileage may vary but I think the whole trend is running on fumes at this point.
