Three years ago I built a retaining wall for a guy in Fresno and it's still holding up
I used a full clay brick with a lime mortar mix instead of cement, and the client called me last week to say it hasn't budged through two wet seasons. Anybody else try lime mortar on their projects or am I just lucky?

Got to give credit where it's due @felix_martin56, but that slow cure is exactly why it's still standing. Lime mortar lets the wall breathe and flex a little instead of cracking like concrete does when the ground shifts. Most guys I know won't bother with lime because they're in a rush to get paid and move on. Lucky or not, that wall is three years old and the client called me to brag about it, not complain.
