Finally cracked the code on cheap flights to Tokyo
I was stuck paying $1,200 for flights until I started using skiplagging on a layover in Seoul last month. It saved me about $400 and I just didn't board the second leg, but now I'm worried airlines will catch on and ban me. Has anyone else tried this trick and gotten away with it more than once?

Whoa, hold on there. I gotta be honest, that sounds like a risky move to me. Airlines are definitely catching on to skiplagging and they can ban you or mess with your miles over it. Plus you're kinda screwing over people who actually need that Seoul layover spot, you know?

Oh man, I hear you on the worry part. I've actually pulled the skiplagging move a few times on long hauls and it's worked out fine, but you gotta keep your mileage accounts clean. What I do is only book it on airlines I don't fly often with, or I use a separate frequent flyer number and cash, no points. The real danger is getting caught on a return trip or if you check bags (never do that). If you're smart and keep a low profile, you can probably get away with it a handful of times before they flag you.
