Just realized I've been wasting money on airport food for years
I was stuck at Denver airport last week with a 3 hour layover and bought a $12 sandwich that tasted like cardboard. Then I noticed a guy eating a homemade burrito he clearly packed, and it hit me that I could save like $60 a trip if I just packed snacks from home. Anyone else finally stop buying overpriced airport food?

Switched to packing my own snacks last year. I bring trail mix, granola bars, and a sandwich wrapped in foil. Saves me at LEAST $40 each trip. Airport food prices are a COMPLETE scam.

Oh come ON, is it REALLY that deep? I mean yeah airport food is expensive but we're talking about what, maybe $15 for a sandwich and a drink? $40 seems like a stretch unless you're feeding a family of four. I get being frugal but wrapping a sandwich in foil and hauling trail mix around like you're going on a hiking trip through the Himalayas just seems like a lot of extra work. You're already dealing with TSA and lugging your bags through the terminal, now you gotta worry about your snacks getting squished too? Just grab a burger for $12 and move on with your day, man.
