My flight cost dropped by $180 after I changed my search day

I was looking at flights to Denver for a trip in October. On a Tuesday, the cheapest round trip I could find was about $380. I almost booked it, but I remembered a tip about checking on different days. So I waited and looked again on Thursday morning. The exact same flight, same times, was suddenly $200. I couldn't believe it. In my experience, the day you search can really change the price, not just the day you fly. I think airlines update their prices mid-week. I saved enough for a couple of nice meals out there. Has anyone else seen a big price drop just by checking back on a different weekday?

You saved a whole $180 just by waiting?

and amy's right about the same day thing too. i've noticed flights jump up $50 or more just between morning and afternoon on the same day, so it's super random. that's why i try to search incognito or clear cookies, sometimes it seems like the site bumps the price if you've looked at it a bunch. for me the sweet spot has been wednesday afternoons, no idea why but a lot of budget airlines seem to drop their fares then compared to monday mornings.

Remember that prices can also change within the same day.
