My aunt called my budget spreadsheet "psychotic" and honestly she had a point
I had like 30 categories tracking every single coffee and parking meter, and she said I was making myself miserable for no reason. So I cut it down to 8 main buckets and now I actually stick with it - anyone else overcomplicate things and then simplify?

Yep. Been there. Way too many categories makes it a chore.

Oh man, totally! That's exactly how I feel. I tried one of those apps that had about 50 different categories for every little thing and I gave up after two days. It just felt like I was spending more time sorting stuff than actually getting things done. Sometimes simple is just better, you know? What kind of system works best for you?
