Appreciation post: My shop teacher in Wichita told me to stop drawing every bolt thread and it fixed my whole drawing style
I used to draw every single thread on every bolt in my shop drawings, so a basic bearing mount would take like 4 hours. My old teacher looked at one of my sheets and told me real detail is knowing what to leave out, not what to cram in. Now I draw one thread line and a note, and the machinists actually like my sheets more because they can find the real dimensions. Funny part is I fought him on it for two weeks straight. Anyone else have a mentor who told them to do less and it turned out right?
