My neighbor the contractor told me to use construction adhesive on subfloor screws. Ignored him for 2 months.
He said it stops squeaks better than just screws alone, and I figured he was just being extra. After I finished my basement floor and had three squeaky spots within a week, I pulled up a section and tried his way. Has anyone else tried adhesive on every screw or is that overkill for a standard floor?
