Ran out of clamps mid glue-up in my garage, used 4 bungee cords and it held
Two Saturdays ago I was building a small walnut shelf in my garage in Reno and got about halfway through glue-up when I realized I only had 3 clamps for 6 joints. I grabbed the bungee cords off my bike rack and wrapped them tight around the whole thing, then stacked two paint cans on top for weight. Left it overnight and the joints came out dead flat, no gaps at all. Kind of wondering now why I ever thought I needed a full rack of clamps for small stuff. Anyone else got a backup trick that turned out better than the real tool?
