That week I built a deck with my neighbor and everything went wrong
We spent 3 days measuring and leveling, then realized the hardware store gave us the wrong joist hangers for the 2x8s we bought. Had to rip it all apart and start over on Thursday. Has anyone else had a project where one small mistake multiplied into a full week of rework?

No way they gave you the wrong joist hangers after all that measuring! That's brutal, I would've been so ticked off. It's like the universe just decided you needed a lesson in patience that week. I guess now you know exactly how to double check everything at the hardware store before you even bring it home lmao. At least the neighbors probably got a good story out of watching you rip it all apart and start over.

Watched my whole DIY reputation walk out the door with that deck, but hey, at least the birds got a good laugh.
