That week I redid my whole garage shop layout for $80 in pegboard

Last month I got tired of tripping over extension cords and digging for the same 3 sockets in a drawer. So I mapped out my wall space on graph paper, bought 4 sheets of 4x8 pegboard from a local lumber yard in Tacoma, and spent two evenings moving every tool. The big change was putting my most used power tools at chest height instead of floor level. It took about 6 hours total but now I can grab a drill without bending down. Has anyone else reorganized their workspace based on how often you actually use a tool, not where it used to live?

That chest height trick is a GAME CHANGER. I did the same thing last spring with my workbench wall, and honestly it felt stupid how long I'd been crawling around for stuff I grab every single day. The pegboard itself is cheap, but the real win was forcing myself to think about my actual workflow instead of just hammering nails wherever. Now my angle grinder and impact driver live at eye level, and the stuff I barely touch went up high or down low. Best part is I found a bunch of spare bits and blades I forgot I owned, so that $80 basically paid for itself in lost time saved.
