Took me 3 weekends to fix a cabinet door that hung wrong by 1/8 inch
Our upper cabinets in the kitchen went in fine except one door that rubbed the frame on the hinge side, so I shimmed the hinges, then re-drilled the plate, then moved the whole box, all before checking the wall itself was out of plumb by almost a quarter inch over 4 feet. I finally stuffed a cedar shim behind the cabinet back in Raleigh and it closed perfect in about 5 minutes. Two of those weekends were just me guessing at hinges when the real culprit was the wall, and I felt pretty silly. Has anyone else chased a door gap and found out the frame was the problem the whole time?
