Switched from monthly to weekly spreads and now my whole system feels backwards
For two years I ran a monthly spread with a big calendar grid and a running task list on the right side, and it worked fine until I missed a dentist appointment in March because I never flipped back to check the grid. Now I do one week per page with a tiny habit tracker in the corner, and I keep arguing with myself about whether the calendar part was even doing anything or if I just liked how it looked. Did the weekly layout make things simpler for you, or did you end up missing the big picture view?
Hit the same wall last year and made the switch too. The big grid was mostly decoration for me, I flipped past it without really reading it, and the weekly page keeps me honest because everything I need is right there. Still keep a small month view taped inside the cover for the stuff that's weeks out, but the weekly layout made the day to day way simpler.
