Update: My coworker called my bullet journal a 'glorified to-do list'
He said it over lunch last Tuesday, and it really got me thinking. I've been using the same Leuchtturm1917 notebook for my work tasks and personal goals for about 8 months now. My takeaway is that if your system is just a list of chores, you're missing the point. The real power is in the monthly migration and the future log for tracking progress on bigger things, like saving for a trip. It's not about checking boxes, it's about seeing where your time actually goes. Has anyone else had to defend their setup from people who just don't get it?

The Bullet Journal Method book calls that monthly migration the "cornerstone" of the whole system.

Honestly used to see the monthly migration as just more busywork. Flipping back through pages felt like a chore. Then I missed moving a dentist appointment and had to pay a late fee. Now that quick review each month saves my skin, catching stuff that would have slipped by. It really is the part that makes the whole system stick.
