Was at a bullet journal meetup in Austin and half the people were using apps instead of paper notebooks

Tbh I went to this local bullet journal group at a coffee shop last Saturday and about 12 people showed up. But 6 of them were using digital journals on their tablets or phones instead of actual notebooks. Ngl I get the convenience factor but isn't the whole point of bullet journaling to unplug and use pen and paper? What side do you fall on for this debate - digital or analog for journaling?

...and it kind of goes along with what I've noticed at the farmer's market too. People are showing up with phones out ordering their produce online instead of just walking around and talking to the farmers. It's like we are trying to replace every hands on experience with a screen. I use a paper bullet journal myself and the act of writing things down helps me remember them way better than typing. But I also get that some folks need the convenience of search and syncing across devices. At the end of the day it should be whatever helps you stay organized and calm, even if that means going digital.
