Visited a high-end custom shop in Portland last month and noticed something off

Everyone raves about Festool track saws for breaking down sheet goods, but this shop was using an old beat-up circular saw with a straightedge for everything. Their cuts were just as clean, and they said they spend way less on blades. Has anyone else seen pros skip the expensive gear and still get great results?

Honestly that rings so true. I know a guy who builds high end kitchens and he uses a beat up Makita skill saw with a Diablo blade and a cheap aluminum straightedge for everything. His work looks perfect every time.

Bet that Diablo blade is doing most of the heavy lifting. People sleep on how much a good blade makes up for a janky tool.
