My old crimper vs a $40 Klein. Night and day difference.
Been using this beat up crimper from my first tool kit for years. Finally bought a Klein ratcheting crimper last week for $42 at the supply house. First RG6 connector I did seated perfect first try. No more squeezing then checking then squeezing again. Has anyone else waited way too long to upgrade a basic tool?

I straightened 10 connectors with my old one before I figured out how to get a good crimp. The Klein made me feel like I actually knew what I was doing for once. You ever get that moment where you realize you've been making things hard on yourself for years?

Man, you're totally right about that! I've been there myself more times than I care to count. For years I fought with this old crimper that made every connection feel like a gamble. Then I picked up a Klein a while back and it was like night and day. @shah.evan hit the nail on the head about bad tools making you second-guess your own skills. My advice is to try a few different tools if you can, even borrow one from a buddy if possible. Sometimes the problem really isn't your technique, it's just the tool fighting you every step of the way.
