Just found a trick for unsticking a stuck shutter blade with a drop of lighter fluid
I had a Pentax Spotmatic that sat in a damp basement for 5 years and the shutter blades were frozen solid, but a tiny drop of Ronsonol on the pivot points and some gentle cycling freed them up in under 10 minutes.

Haha I started to panic when I first tried this on my old Canon and nothing happened for like a full minute. Thought I'd just made a really expensive paperweight out of lighter fluid. But yeah, patience is key with this trick. Gotta let it soak in and work its way through the gunk, then cycle it gently a few times. Def not a quick fix like some people expect from YouTube videos. Still beats sending it off for a CLA though lmao.

Nah I feel that. The first time I tried it I almost gave up after 30 seconds thinking I ruined my Pentax. But I let it sit for a good five minutes and it eventually freed up the shutter. Definitely not a quick fix but way cheaper than a shop.
