inFuel return line blew on I-5 near Bakersfield last Tuesday
I've got a 97 Ford F-250 that taught me this lesson about three years ago on the Grapevine. A five foot section of 3/8 inch fuel injection hose and four clamps have sat in my toolbox ever since. It cost me maybe eight bucks at AutoZone, and I've used it twice now once for a buddy's Dodge on the 99 and once for my own truck when a line rubbed through near the frame rail. Just make sure you get hose rated for fuel injection pressure, not that cheap vacuum line stuff. Keep a small piece of zip tie on hand too to trace the routing if you have to replace it on the side of the road.

inHit 500 color corrections this year and honestly, I think the 'less is more' rule is wrong sometimes.
Confess I've replayed a conversation from three days ago in my head at 2am while trying to fall asleep. My brain literally dug up that one awkward sentence from last Tuesday and was like "hey, let's analyze this for the 47th time." I've caught exactly zero small problems that way, but I have convinced myself my neighbor thinks I'm weird because I waved too enthusiastically.

inMy brother told me I was overthinking my career change - he was right
Yeah but that $200 class probably did more for you than all those books combined. The thing people miss is that planning is often just avoiding the actual work. You can read about color theory and typography for months but until you actually mess up a layout or two you don't learn anything real. That's the part nobody talks about - making the mistakes is how you get better, not reading about how to avoid them. Good on you for just doing it.

inShoutout to that designer who told me to throw out my color wheel
Oh cool, now I can blame my bad color choices on a rusted car instead of my own lack of talent.

Hate to say it but you gotta learn that lesson the hard way like most of us do. Its not just freelance stuff either I've noticed people in general try to get away with whatever they can if you let them. Like even just asking a friend to help move and they suddenly disappear when you need them. Thats why I put a 50% deposit on everything now even small favors sometimes. People respect you more when you set clear boundaries upfront.
