Had to ditch my old sleeping pad after that rocky night at Moosehead Lake
Camped up near Moosehead Lake last fall and my cheap foam pad left me feeling every root and rock through the tent floor. Woke up sore and grumpy, barely got any sleep. Anyone else made the switch to an inflatable pad and notice a huge difference?

Nah, mouth inflation is fine and saves me from another piece of gear to lose.

The real game changer for me wasn't just switching to an inflatable pad, it was getting one with a built in pump sack. You can save so much weight and space compared to the old foam pads, but the pump sack means you never have to put your mouth on that dusty valve. Plus it doubles as a dry bag for your clothes during the day. People talk about R value and thickness but nobody mentions how much easier setup gets without huffing and puffing. Have you tried one of those pump sack pads?
