Just tried a blowdown nozzle on my camp stove instead of my usual pump style
Picked up a cheap blowdown nozzle at a garage sale in Missoula for $5. Used it on my old two-burner and the flame control was way better than my pump. Going back to the pump felt like a downgrade - anyone else ditch their stove's stock setup?

Wait, have you checked if the blowdown nozzle is actually meant for the same fuel type as your stove? In my experience, some of those cheap nozzles from garage sales are built for high pressure propane setups, not the lower pressure on a camp stove. If the orifice size doesn't match, you could end up with a lean flame that ruins your simmer control or even damages the regulator over time. I just swapped a nozzle on my old Coleman and ended up with a flame that looked like a blowtorch, so I had to go back to the stock piece. Your mileage may vary, but I'd double check the threading and the PSI rating if you want to keep using that $5 find.

Spent $5 on a garage sale nozzle and now my pump stove sits in time out. Guess that's what happens when you upgrade your gear for less than a tank of gas. My old pump is starting to look real jealous sitting in the corner.
