Question about shipping a car from Phoenix to Seattle, the $200 mistake I made with my pickup date
I locked in a quote for my Civic from Phoenix to Seattle at $780 and picked the cheapest pickup window, which was a 5 day spread with no set day. The broker kept bumping me for 9 days straight while my parking spot expired and I ended up paying $200 to store the car at a lot near the airport. Did anyone else get burned by a wide pickup window, and is it worth paying extra for a firm date?

Paying extra for a firm date is worth it every time, and I learned that the hard way when a 4 day window turned into 11 days of the driver "almost being there." The thing nobody tells you is the broker only makes money when the car moves, so they have zero reason to care about your parking spot or your flight. Next time just book with a carrier that gives you a real day, even if it costs $150 more, because storage fees and stress will eat that up fast.
