Had to choose between a $5k raise or a 4-day work week.

I took the extra day off, and now I'm way better at my job because I'm not burned out. Anyone else faced a similar trade-off and how did it work out?

Money's real though... that extra 5k could cover a lot of bills or build some savings. Hard to turn down cash when everything costs more.

My buddy did that and his sales went up 20%.

That's a really smart choice... it's crazy how much better you can work when you're not running on empty. Like @simon_chen said, his friend's sales jumped, which totally makes sense. I've seen people get that extra day and suddenly they're solving problems faster, just because their brain isn't fried from the usual grind. The money is nice, but you can't buy that kind of clear headspace.
