Caught a rat in a window frame with a door hinge, never laughed so hard

Last Tuesday I was doing a trim job in a old house near the river, and I pulled off a casing to find this little guy chilling in the gap. He bolted right into a loose hinge I'd set on the floor, like he was trying to hide in it. The thing snapped shut on his tail and he froze, just staring at me. I had to cut the hinge pin with a hacksaw to free him, and now I always check my hardware pile before I start demo. Anyone else ever had a critter turn a basic repair into a circus?
