Just hit 1,000 yards of carpet installed this month for the first time

I've been doing this trade for about 3 years now and I hit 1,000 square yards of carpet installed just last Thursday. That's way more than my normal 600-700 per month and it honestly surprised me. It happened because I had three big commercial jobs back to back in a strip mall near Tacoma. One of them was 400 yards alone for a new office space they wanted done in 3 days. My knees are killing me but it feels good to see that number on my books. Has anyone else had a month that just blew past your usual pace?

What kind of prep work did those commercial jobs involve? I've found that the big commercial spaces can be a blessing and a curse depending on how much furniture moving and old carpet removal they make you deal with.

Oh man, you nailed it! I had this one office job where they promised everything was cleared out but we showed up and there were still cubicle walls half-dismantled and filing cabinets everywhere. Took us almost a whole extra day just to move stuff around and get the corners cleared where the old carpet was peeling up in strips. And the smell, don't even get me started on the smell of old commercial carpet glue that's been sitting there for years. Total nightmare.
