The new guy asked me why I still carry a knee kicker in my van, and it took me back to a job in Spokane three years ago where the power stretcher jammed.
That old tool saved the day and a $2,500 wool berber install when I had to finish a 15-foot seam by hand in a corner the machine couldn't reach.

You ever notice how people act like anything old is automatically bad? It's like we're all supposed to chase the newest thing all the time. But sometimes the old way works fine, or maybe it even works better. Calling it "clinging" just shuts down the whole talk. Maybe the past had some good ideas we shouldn't throw out so fast.
