Rant: I spent $200 on a 'smart' thermostat and my heating bill went up

The programming was so confusing it defaulted to a constant 72 degrees. Anyone have a simple, effective model they'd actually recommend?

What's the point of a smart thermostat if it's too dumb to save you money? The whole setup process is a maze of menus that just punts you back to a basic, wasteful temperature. I'd honestly take a simple programmable dial over that any day.

Mine saved a ton after I learned the app.
