My uncle told me about his friend who spent over 400 bucks on a plumber to fix a toilet that just needed a new flapper. That 5 dollar part taught me the same lesson. People get scared of pipes and water damage and just call someone right away. But half the time its something simple that a quick youtube video shows you how to do. Three months is rough though you have way more patience than me. I would have caved and called someone by week two.
