Hot take: clean your print heads BEFORE swapping ink, or you'll waste $70 like I did
I burned through two cyan cartridges in one weekend because my nozzle check looked fine but the heads were actually gunked up. I ran three deep clean cycles on my Epson ET-8550 and the streaks kept coming back, so I finally pulled the cartridge and found dried ink clogging the port. A guy at the print shop on 5th St told me to soak a lint free cloth in warm distilled water and wipe the head contact for 30 seconds before ever loading new ink. Did that once and my next 11x17 came out perfect with zero banding. Has anyone else had a cartridge read as full but still print like garbage?
