Switched from process black to rich black and it was the right call
Everyone in my shop kept saying 100% K was fine for text, but after 3 big brochures came out looking gray next to color elements, I finally pushed for C50 M40 Y40 K100. The contrast difference is huge. Anyone else fight with their team about this?

Totally agree, night and day difference on the final print.

You really think the contrast difference is huge?" I mean yeah, rich black prints darker, but most people aren't holding up a brochure next to a color wheel. I always go with 100% K for text because it's one less thing for the press operator to screw up, especially on big runs. If your team's already worried about registration, adding extra plates seems like asking for trouble. How much did you really notice a difference on the final product?
