That free coding bootcamp info session in Detroit pushed me the wrong direction
They spent 45 minutes selling the job placement stats, but when I asked about their actual curriculum for absolute beginners, the instructor admitted they skip file structure and version control entirely, and that left me scared for anyone who signs up without knowing that first, has anyone else seen a bootcamp gloss over the boring basics like that?

That part about them skipping file structure and version control is a huge red flag. Those are the boring basics that literally every single project depends on, so how are they teaching people to build anything that doesn't fall apart? Did you push back and ask what they actually replace those hours with, like is it just more JavaScript framework stuff? Because I feel like a bootcamp that hides the unglamorous stuff is setting people up to look clueless in their first job interview. I'm curious if they framed it as "you'll learn that on the job" or something equally unhelpful, since that's the classic excuse.
