Just realized my tap water was ruining my pour over coffee
I always wondered why my coffee tasted weird at home compared to the shop. After some reading, I found out that hard water can really affect how coffee brews. The SCA actually has a water standard, they say the ideal range is 150 ppm hardness. I use a TDS meter to check my filtered water because my tap reads over 300. That high mineral content just makes everything taste bitter and flat.
