Patience with bloom time changed my chemex brew

I found that waiting 45 seconds for the bloom improves flavor. Now my chemex coffee is much smoother.

That 45 second wait for the bloom is key. I rushed it for ages and my coffee was always harsh. Giving it that extra time makes a huge difference in the cup.

My old drip machine had a 30 second bloom setting and it was a game changer. I used to just pour and go, but that short pause lets the grounds actually get wet. It's like letting a sponge soak up water before you squeeze it. You get a smoother cup without that bitter edge, you know?

So what grind are you using for that bloom? A finer grind makes it harder for the water to get through. Ever try adjusting that with the longer wait?
