I watched a documentary last year that followed a coffee co-op in Guatemala. They used fair trade premiums to build a proper school in their village, not just give cash. One farmer said it meant his kids could learn to read without a three hour walk each day. That kind of tangible change made me see the certification as a real tool, not just a sticker. It's about stuff you can actually point to, like a new roof or clean water.
