Blew a whole weekend redoing my living room palette after seeing a friend's place
I was over at my buddy Dave's apartment last Saturday and he just repainted his whole living room. He did this warm tan with dark navy accents and some muted orange pillows and it looked so put together. Then I came home and looked at my place where I've got this grayish blue on the walls with white trim and black furniture and it just felt flat and lifeless. I spent like three years convincing myself that cool tones were the way to go, but seeing his space made me realize mine looked like a doctor's waiting room. So I spent Sunday ordering paint swatches and pulling pillows off my couch to test warmer browns and creamier whites. I'm still not sure if I'm making the right call, but that contrast between his cozy vibe and my cold box really got to me. Has anyone else had their whole color scheme thrown off by seeing a friend's setup?

Yeah @the_viola totally right. Warm bulbs saved my whole living room. Try swapping bulbs first.

You ever think maybe it's not just the colors but the light they're soaking up? Your friend's tan and navy might work because his windows face a certain way or he's got warm bulbs everywhere. My sister copied a friend's sage green and it looked totally dead in her north-facing room. Maybe check how natural light hits your place before you go all in on warm tones, because that could be what's making your cool scheme feel flat too.
