My trick for picking palette colors from a single photo

I used to stare at blank swatches for hours. Then I tried pulling 5 colors from a random photo on my phone. Just open the image in any editor and sample the main tones. Works way better than overthinking it. Anyone else do this or have a different method?

Pulling colors from a real photo is such a solid shortcut. It takes all the guesswork out and gives you a built in vibe to work from. That method has saved me from staring at a blank screen more times than I can count.

Not sure about that @bailey.sandra, relying on photos just kills your own sense of what works together.
