Walked into a paint store in Austin and saw a display labeled "aggressive beige" next to "militant taupe"

The owner said they named them that to get people to stop asking for "warm gray" all the time, but now everybody just asks for the aggressive one anyways so what did you actually fix?

Totally agree, saw almost the same thing at a store in Denver with "passive aggressive lavender" and "hostile beige". It's hilarious but also they just created a new problem for themselves.

@garcia.miles that Denver thing sounds exactly like what my buddy ran into last week. He went to a local hardware store looking for off-white trim paint, and the guy behind the counter just deadpans "we've got 'reluctant cream' and 'testy off-white.'" My friend stood there for a solid 30 seconds before he realized it wasn't a joke, the labels were actually on the cans. He ended up buying a quart of 'reluctant cream' just because he felt like he had to commit to the bit, you know? Now his wife is mad because the living room looks like someone painted it with angry milk.
