How adding symbols to my charts changed everything for my team
I used to only use colors to show different parts in my work charts. A friend at work said he mixes up red and green lines. I did not know this could be a problem for some people. Now I put small shapes like stars or triangles next to each color. This helps everyone see the differences right away. My team now reads the charts faster and with fewer mistakes. It is a easy thing to do that makes a big difference.

My old charts must have been a nightmare for our colorblind folks, and I didn't even know. I once spent ten minutes talking about the 'green' trend line that was actually red. Whoops. Adding those little squares and circles is such a simple fix, but it saves so much confusion. Makes you wonder what other easy things we're all missing, right?
