Watching guys run their lift bags wrong on a salvage job in San Diego

I was on a small salvage job last month and saw two different divers forget to equalize their lift bag before sending it up. One of them almost lost control of a 500lb pipe because the bag shot up too fast. I mean, it's basic stuff but people skip the venting step and it makes the whole lift sketchy. Anybody else notice this getting more common or is it just the crews I've been working with?

Watch a guy try to "surf" his lift bag up from 60 feet last month. Bag shot up so fast it hit the surface and skipped across the water like a flat rock. Had to chase it down in the boat while he just floated there looking confused.

Bet he didn't have a dump valve to let air out on the way up.
